INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

We know the below may seem intimidating at first glance, but please read through it before you buy a car robe from us.  First:  measure your seat's dimensions, left door to right door, and from bottom of seat to top of seat and compare that to our Car Robe's dimensions.

(These instructions come with the car robe, no need to print this page out)

Available in full or half-bench (front seat, divided) sizes. The full size is 58x52" for your back seat; the half bench for your front seat is 29x48, " with the 48" being the height and the 29" and 58" being the width of each seat  (29" = half bench; 58" = full bench).  ( The 48"  refers to the height of your front seat , the 52" the height of the back seat.  The other dimensions are length [left door to right door] ).  The rubberized backing provides for a "non-slide" stick factor which does not leave marks on your car seat.

Front Seats/Bucket Seats. Place the top elastic strap over the top of the car seat. In those cases where the head rest is adjustable, raise it and push it back down over the strap, helping to hold the robe in place. For fabric seats nothing else is needed. Mold the fabric to the seat and tuck into the crease between the seats. The bottom of the car robe has a weight/clip attached to an elastic strap that is used to hold the bottom of the robe to the seat itself. Place the clip under the seat and attach it to any available surface where the the hook will hold. This will hold the car robe more securely to the bottom of the front seat.  Not all front seats will have a place under the seat to which this clip will attach.  In which case the car robe front seat version for bucket seats may not work for your vehicle.

Rear Seats. The rear seat car robe has been  improved..  It has slots cut for your passenger and middle seat belts and special weights to fit into the crevice between the seat part of your car seat where it meets the back of your car seat. Follow the same procedure as above and also read below.  A close-up view of the Clips/Hooks  is Here.

The new rear seat car robe has two improvements

1) Slots already made for your rear seat belts to slip through. The slots extend on each side to the middle of the seat; ie: from the far left (and far right) to the middle part.
2) Special weights that look like clips at that part of the robe where the seat part of the robe meets the part that goes up over the back of your rear seat. Those hooks slip down through the crevice in your rear seat where the seat part of your back seat meets the back of the seat, and will hold the robe more tightly and securely to your seat.  (see Here for a close-up view of the clips)

Instructions for Rear Seat Installation

Place the robe on the rear seat with the foam side up and folded in the middle. This will position the section with the elastic from side to side on top towards you and the front of the seat and the three clips  in the middle of the robe towards the back of the robe away from you, hook side down. Insert the clips (weights) so that they  go between the upper back seat cushion and the lower seat cushion and hook on to the back of the lower seat cushion. In some cases they may not hook anywhere, but just act as weights.  When installed they are out of sight.
This should hold the robe securely when pulled against the hooked back. Pull the lower seat part of the robe tightly and slide the three flat clips at the bottom of the robe, under the seat, between the seat and the floor. These clips don't actually hook onto anything. They are just there to keep tension on the robe. The bottom section is now installed.  If you cannot tuck the robe under your front seat, these clips (weights) simply hang down and  act as a weight at the bottom to provide stability.

Fold up the top piece, which is the upper back seat cover, and insert the elastic strap around the edges of both sides of the rear seat. You should be able to squeeze the elastic between the frame and the seat cushion. The elastic is attached (sewn together) to the middle of the robe, thus holding it up in the middle against the seat.  If there is no way for you to do this (and there sometimes is not a way on all cars, this Robe is not for you.  It will not work for your car.
Mold and tuck the robe into all areas between the seat and the frame where possible, top and bottom and side and it will
tighten. If you cannot tuck it under you seat, let it hang.  The weights at the bottom act as a stabilizer.  Your seat belt receptacles can now be brought through for use for the left or right sides.

IF YOU FIND that for some reason there is no way, on viewing your back seat, to either pull away the back seat from the frame, or that there is no grove there in which the elastic strap can be placed, then probably this car robe is not for you.  But you have to make that decision. It might still work, but you will have to decide. The rubberized backing provides for a "non-slide" stick factor which does not leave marks on your car seat.

Your vehicle is now ready for your children, pets, people with wet bathing suits, candy or ice cream, and should provide long lasting protection for your seats.
